Here are some samples of the different stems
and glasses I can make.
Below #1 & #2 & #3 - These are a combination of segmented (the little pieces of light colored wood) and laminated (the solid wood in between). Lately I've been finding glasses at the thrift store - the choices are unpredictable but sometimes lovely.
Below #4 - These are laminated - solid wood form each layer. I think I got these glasses at Walmart.
Below #5 - These are laminated - solid wood form each layer. I got these glasses at the thrift store. The people I game them to thought they were candle holders ;-)
Below #6 - These were made from solid wood. Glasses from Walmart. These have the rings (1, 2, 3, 4) so everyone knows which glass is theirs.
Below: If you prefer a more standard style of glass, these are from Walmart, I believe. Red wine on the left, white wine on the right. I am not enough of a wine connoisseur to know what the difference is. If it holds liquid, it works for me!
WOOD: There are lots of choices, from domestics (walnut, cherry, maple, oak, etc.) to the kinds that are imported (padauk {red/orange}, purpleheart, yellowheart, wenge {dark brown}, zebrawood {striped}, etc.).
PRICING: Laminated or solid wood (#4, 5 & 6) - $60 for a set of four; $30 for a set of two. Segmented (#1, 2, & 3) - $75 for a set of four; $37.50 for a set of two (segmented are harder to make).
